News from the Dutton Owners Club

NEWS Big hello and thank you!

I would like to take this opportunity to say hello again and re-introduce myself. My name is John Barker I am the new webmaster (and Melos owner). If anyone would like to email me any comments or suggestions please fire away. webmaster@duttonownersclub.co.uk

Galleries now online
We have collected a lot of images of Duttons over the years, and we have now organised them into online galleries which include the various Dutton models, and the parts that go to make them up, including things like suspension, brakes and steering. All these images have come from the membership secretary or the club editor, so if you'd like to contribute - that would be great - and help to build the galleries up some more. Just send your images to the webmaster, with all the useful details you can remember, and we'll include them.

Dutton wheel badges & chassis plates
Designed on the original Dutton badges supplied by Tim Dutton for the centre caps on the Dutton Weller wheels, we can now offer wheel badges. They are 44mm in diameter just as the originals were and self adhesive. They are available with black text on either a white background (as per the originals) or with a silver background to match silver / alloy wheels. Price is £1 per badge ( i.e. £4 for a set of four) plus the usual P&P.

After a long wait we finally now have in stock reproduction Dutton Chassis plates. These are produced to the same design and size as the originals. They are on thicker aluminium which has been anodised first to give a longer lasting finish prior to having the writing screen printed on. The plates will arrive without fixing holes so that you are able to drill your own holes to suit the exact spacing on your individual car. They are only available to paid up Dutton Owners Club members. In order to get one of these to tidy up your engine bay or to complete that restoration then you will need to send a copy of the log book (V5 or V5C) to Mark Young (DOC Mem Sec) along with your membership number, a photo of the car and a cheque made out to ‘Dutton Owners Club’ for £4.00.

The chassis plate will then be stamped up with your chassis number prior to being posted out to you. Please note that as these are to the original Dutton design the space for the chassis number is quite short as it was only ever designed for the original 4 to 6 digit Dutton chassis number. Therefore if your car has a long DVLA issued chassis number (SABTVR….. or LVLVO…….) this will not fit in the box, we will only be able to stamp an original Dutton chassis number on the plates. There is also the box for the engine number which historically was rarely filled in and hence will be left blank unless otherwise requested.
