Stoneleigh 2000, May

After a few weeks of heavy rain we were blessed with a fine Bank holiday weekend, although the grass was wet under tyre - at least the tent pegs went in easily.

As last year we had about 50 cars on each day covering the wide range of Dutton models, and also demonstrating the wide range of build standards. One new member drove over from Germany disproving the old tale that Duttons fall apart after a few yards. Several members still rebuilding their cars also made it to the show and hopefully they left inspired enough to rebuild their Duttons.

On the Sunday we celebrated the clubs 20 anniversary in style with a hired marquee and 'entertainment'. Some of this can be seen in the photos with the organisers acting as the 'Spice Girls' Mothers', and no they're not blokes in drag, as some people have said when shown the photos, but females. Later on inspired by the Full Monty we had the Half Dutton.
